// THE SYSTEM
// OVERVIEW
The KUMO Inshore Vibrocoring System is a lightweight floating deployment platform designed to operate the Mini Vibracorer in restricted-access environments such as rivers, estuaries, harbours and inland waterways. Its twin-hull catamaran configuration provides a stable working platform for reliable soil investigation campaigns.
Equipped with an integrated A-frame and modular working deck, the system supports rapid mobilisation to inshore locations with limited infrastructure. The open deck layout accommodates the Mini Vibracorer together with core handling equipment, enabling efficient soil investigation operations.
// KEY FEATURES
Designed to operate in ultra-shallow waters and intertidal environments where conventional geotechnical vessels cannot safely access or remain operational due to tidal exposure and limited water depth.
Capable of recovering undisturbed cores of up to six metres for environmental assessments and geotechnical site investigations in rivers, lakes, reservoirs, quarry pits and other inland water bodies.
Designed for sites where conventional marine operations cannot be launched or safely conducted. The system can be deployed directly from the shoreline — including gravel banks, sand or natural banks — providing access to inland water bodies and shallow areas unreachable by larger survey platforms.
The entire system is transported in a single van or small trailer and can reach sites via standard roads, gravel tracks or unpaved access routes. This allows mobilisation directly to remote shorelines and inland water bodies without heavy transport logistics.
KUMO Offshore brings extensive experience operating vibrocoring systems in offshore geotechnical campaigns worldwide. The same proven sampling technology and operational know-how are applied to inland and restricted-access environments.
Ideal for targeted sampling campaigns where mobilisation of conventional offshore survey vessels would be technically impractical or economically disproportionate.
